They battled through fading light, matching each other shot for shot over three extra holes until it became pitch black. Refusing to let darkness mar an incredible contest, opposing captains Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player agreed to call it a draw, marking the first and only time the cup has been shared.

The International Triumph Down Under (1998)

While the U.S. team has historically dominated the competition, the International Team secured a historic, roaring victory in 1998 at the legendary Royal Melbourne Golf Club in Australia.

Captained by Peter Thomson, the International side crushed the U.S. team 20.5 to 11.5, fueled by a flawless 5-0-0 performance from Shigeki Maruyama. To this day, it stands as the ultimate high-water mark for the International squad.
